2022 Buick Enclave To Get Full Wireless Charging Availability After All

Many automakers have had to limit vehicle features to cope with the global semiconductor shortage. GM has proactively sought contracts with microchip suppliers to mitigate the impact of future shortages on production.

“Whether we work with foundries to give longer-term commitments or we look to partnering with folks, we’re looking at all aspects of the supply chain to really ensure that something of this magnitude as it relates to chips doesn’t happen again,” GM Chief Financial Officer, Paul Jacobson, recently told Reuters.

Standard wireless charging isn’t the only change to the refreshed 2022 Buick Enclave. The three-row crossover will lose the Premier trim level which previously served as the base trim, making Essence the new base with a starting price of $42,800. Exterior updates include redesigned front and rear fascias, a larger grille, new taillights, and thin LED headlamps. The model will also lose three previously offered exterior colors, including Satin Steel Metallic, Dark Slate Metallic, and Red Quartz Tintcoat. Three new paint colors, Sage Metallic, Emperor Blue Metallic, and Cherry Red Tintcoat will replace the discontinued hues.

Inside the refreshed 2022 Buick Enclave is a new center console with push-button shifter, officially known within GM as Electronic Transmission Range Select or ETRS, along with several new materials.

The 2022 Enclave, which continues to ride on the extended-length version of the GM C1 platform, will go into production at the GM Delta Lansing Township plant on August 7th, 2021, and will begin arriving at dealers shortly thereafter.
